CED Clinic Appointment Follow-Up

It's as easy as 1-2-3!

1.  Visit the new CCC patient gateway:  https://patient.massciportal.com
  • 1a. (New Patients) Select the first box that indicates you are a "newly certified patient and would like to create an account and register for the Medical Use of Marijuana Online Program for the first time"
  • 1a. (Renewing Patients) If this is your first entry into the new system, click box which indicates that you’re a renewing patient, but new to this system….  where appropriate, then click the link that allows you to “Claim Account”
  • 1a. (Pediatric Patients) Scroll to the bottom segment: PARENTS, LEGAL GUARDIANS AND CAREGIVERS OF PEDIATRIC PATIENTS
    • Select the box that pertains to your status of new or renewing the patient's registration.
  • A tutorial of how to claim your account:   https://mass-cannabis-control.com/masscip-tutorials/

2.  Confirm Registration Details
  • 2a. (New Patients) Complete the state registration, following the online instructions (your PIN code will be emailed to you by CED Clinic after your appointment
    • REMEMBER to have your proof of residency and photo of yourself already scanned and formatted correctly on your computer, as this is a time-sensitive process
    • Pediatric Reminder REMEMBER to have the proof of MA residency and photos of yourself and the patient PLUS a document of proof of parent or legal guardianship (like birth certificate or proof of adoption)
  • 2a. (Renewing Patients) After claiming your account, log in to complete a brief review of your Cannabis Control Commission (state) application profile, so that the state can reissue you a plastic license for this year.
  • 2b. Once this is done, expect to receive an email from “CNBCommission (CCC)” informing you that "You have successfully completed your registration”.

3. Print your card
After you receive confirmation that the application has been approved, you may log back into the Patient Portal, using your username and password (this link:
https://patient.massciportal.com ) to print a paper card (if you need it).
  • This paper-printed card can be used at all of the dispensaries until the plastic license arrives in the mail. If you have a card from last year that is still valid, the completion of the above steps should automatically prompt a new card to be mailed by the state.

Overview of the Massachusetts Medical Process

After your virtual visit today, the medical component of your card (the doctor “certification”) part is complete. This certification is valid for 365 days.

Massachusetts also requires that you complete a brief online application so that they can mail you a state-sponsored plastic license, which gives you access to MA dispensaries (and others that offer reciprocity) for 365 days. Both of these two parts of the MA license (the doctor visit and the state registration) must be renewed annually.

Done With Registration... Now What?

Picture
Once you complete the above registration step, your application goes into a queue until the state approves it and mails you a plastic license (in an unmarked envelope). Typically this process takes less than 10 days, following the completion of the state registration step.

If you want to speed up the pace of approval, you can reach out to Matthew Giancola at [email protected]. He works with the state and can sometimes help to speed up the processing.

It would help to include in your email:
1) Your Name        2) Your Patient ID number (Pxxxxx)      3) You are a new certification

At any time, if you would like personal guidance through this process, please feel free to reach out to CED Clinic or the state’s customer service can be reached at (774) 415-0200

Don't Miss the HUGE Discounts!
Don't forget that there are some discounts in the state to help pay back your cost for the medical visit. For example, NETA (in Brookline and Northampton,) Berkshire Roots (Pittsfield), Central Ave Compassionate Care, Sira, Rev Clinics, Garden Remedies, Apothca, and CommCan each offer patients a free $200 dollar product credit for purchases.

Help CED Build a Future Canna-"Companion App"

CED recently started a company to put together a companion app for cannabis consumers, so that individuals who may not know one another might still be able to share valuable insights into products, costs, unpleasant effects, etc…   If you’re interested in being involved, this is an opportunity unique to CED patients, and anyone who helps out will have free, lifetime access to the app, once it launches.

We've created two surveys to help design the best app possible. You're welcome to complete both surveys, as they each serve a unique purpose.
Picture
This survey will help us learn some background information about what brings you to cannabis, some nuances about your prior experience with cannabis, a few quick questions about your personality, and how you are hoping to use cannabis this year. We are hoping to learn from the information you share, to generate a personalized recommendation based on the information we receive toward products that we think will help you reach your cannabis goals. Currently, we are learning about treatments for sleep, stress, and pain. The information you provide will also help us begin and optimize the survey and data model to improve the recommendations we make.
Picture
This second survey will collect information before, during, and after a session with cannabis. It will ask some questions to learn how you’re feeling prior to the trial, and then during and/or after the trial (depending on your preferences!) to determine if, and how cannabis might have affected how you were feeling. After learning from this feedback, we hope to learn enough to begin offering some recommendations for how to optimize your experience with your current product, or perhaps recommend a new product that might help you even more. Your feedback will also be used to optimize our data model to provide improving recommendations.

Returning to CED

Picture
Everyone learns differently; and follow up is intended to support you. MA requires a re-certification visit at least once per year with CED.

Note: The deals for free product credit at the medical dispensaries also renew for you each year.  They are attempting to pay for the costs of the re-certification process, and you can collect as many of those deals as you want.

You can control the frequency of your follow up visits at CED through CEDclinic.com
